you should do it too.

Stacey tagged me in a meme and since I saw it as I was about to get into bed (I swear I'm at least making an effort to have a somewhat normal bedtime) and figured I'd do it before finishing up my work for the evening. Not a whole lot of work got done today since I spent 9.5 hours at my sister's sitting on her couch looking at wedding websites, magazines, etc. It was worth it though. Anywayyy.

1. The rules of the game get posted on the beginning.
2. Each player answers the rules about him or herself.
3. At the end of the post, the player tags five people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they’ve been tagged and asking them to read his [or her] blog.

What I was doing ten years ago:
Um, I was 15, so probably being a ridiculous teenager. Which for me meant talking about boys non-stop, buying lipgloss, playing field hockey, and just being a general gossip. I dated my first "boyfriend," if you could call him that. I was a freshman and he was a junior, which was SO cool (last I heard he was a used car salesman and got fat hmmm.) I mostly just talked to him on IM and on the phone while I was rollerblading in my driveway. Wow.

Five things on my To-Do list today:
I'm doing tomorrow, since it's late now. 1) Get up early and go to the gym, 2) Take long overdue books back to the library, 3) Get lots of friends birthday presents, 4) Work for many, many hours on my work and projects, 5) Catch up on my scary-looking Google Reader

Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
Pay my grad school loans, buy a nice house (or 2), give lots of money to my parents, treat my sister to her entire wedding, give a couple million to the MSPCA and other animal rescue leagues, and buy a new wardrobe. Like Stacey, I also wouldn't quit my job because I love what I do too much.

Three of my bad habits:
1) Stacey's right. My #1 bad habit is staying up WAY too late and getting not enough sleep at all, ever, 2) Procrastinating on things and then freaking out at the last minute. Though I think I must secretly like this, because if I didn't, why would I do it all the time?, 3) Oh and I work too much. Like way too much. And I put my work before a lot of other things. Bad habit? I don't know. But it's what is important to me right now and I'm pretty sure I won't regret it. I don't ever want a job that is "just a job." I want my job to be part of my life; something I love so much that it can permeate every area of my life and not feel like work. I think that's what life is all about and too many people separate their "job" from the rest of their "life." I totally understand why but I never want to have to do that.

Five places I’ve lived:
1) Andover with the fam, 2) Durham, NH, for college, 2) Brookline, MA, where I've lived for three years now. And um, that's all? I really don't think I've lived anywhere else. Hmmm.

Five jobs I’ve had:
1) Babysitter (I know, who hasn't? But I don't think I've had 5 actual "real" jobs 2) Sales clerk/cashier at American Eagle, 3) Buyer at Hayden Sports, UNH apparel, 4) Intern but really, the only person who did any work at a certain MA government agency, 5) Freelance writer/editor

Five books I’ve recently read:
1) The Other Boleyn Girl, 2) Beginner's Greek, 3) A Thousand Splendid Suns, 4) Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, 5) Snow Flower and the Secret Fan

Five people or communities I’m going to tag: Nobody! But I think you should all do it if you haven't and want to :)

I wouldn't quit my job either. I think that means we're on the right path!

I think I need to read Beginner's Greek for lots of reasons. Namely that it neatly ties together my options right now.

And we're all huge gossips at 15- Deflect! Deflect! Deflect!

Okay, this is the best description of teen love I've ever heard. Remember when this was a perfectly reasonable way to spend a day??? Great post :)

If you want one more thing to add to your to-do list for today, I'll be doing a reading at the Harvard Coop tonight at 7:00...come on by. It would be fun to meet one of my blogger friends in person :) (And if you can make it, remind me to take a picture...I always forget to take pictures, which makes my "yay I met a fellow blogger!" posts so plain...)
